I'm in a Starbucks right now using the internet while Chaz is getting out rental car. Today we leave San Francisco and head to Santa Cruz. First we are going to drive 1 hour north and visit the wineries and the Redwood Forest.

Yesterday we spent a couple of hours walking around a farmers market. 95% of the food there was organic. While walking around we had lunch...each booth had samples. We bought some food and ate that for dinner. It was my favorite thing that we have done so far.

Here is something I wrote a few days ago but couldn't post till now:

It is 7:30am in California. 10:30am in Michigan. I am sitting by the corner window in our hotel room and looking out into the city. From here I can see the Bay Bridge, the mountains, a beautiful park, and a bit of the city. (we are on the 12th floor) San Francisco is clean and smells good. There are lots of trees and some awesome architecture. Not one piece of land goes un-used. The mornings and nights are cold, and the afternoon is warm.

We are having a great time. We spent the first day walking around the northern part of the city. We went to Lombard street (the crooked street), Coit Tower, (the highest point in the city), and Fisherman’s Warf (an area along the bay where you can see Alcatraz).

Yesterday we rented bikes and biked to the Golden Gate Bridge. It was probably a 20 mile ride. Not too bad. Most of the ride took us along the coast with a view to the bridge and the mountains. Beautiful. Then we spent some time walking around China Town (which is huge), and we did some shopping in Union Square.

The hotel is amazing. I don’t thing I have ever stayed in such and upscale place before. They do everything for us. We have gone out to dinner 3 times so far. We ask for a good place, they make some recommendations, and they make the reservations. Then the restaurant knows where we are coming from and they treat us great. So far we have eaten at an authentic Italian restaurant, a Chinese restaurant, and the best steak house in town. Harris’ is the name of the steak house. The owner has 2 ranches and raises all his own beef.

Okay...that's it. We miss everyone and wish you could all be here with us...sometimes. We just see things and we know that certain people would really enjoy to see them too.
